MNYPA established these clubs with aim of giving a platform for adolescent women and young women in community to respond to increased cases of Gender Based Violence, HIV transmission and access of Sexual Reproductive Health in Mbale, Manafwa, Bududa, Sironko, Bulambuli and Kapchorwa.Saturday 28th August 2021, MNYPA held a half day club meeting with women in industrial division Mbale city to establish existing referral path ways for GBV. A total number of 20 women including the youth women councilor madam Nafuna Doreen. Among the challenges women raised during the meeting included lack of safe space to report GBV, lack of GBV safe house to protect women who are GBV survivors and local leaders who discourage women from reporting their husbands perpetrators of GBV. During the meeting, it was agreed that all cases will be reported using the MNYPA GBV support line +256752722842 for support services and referral for further intervention.
